  • Dr. Lars Peter Hansen - David Rockefeller Distinguished Service Professor and the Director of BFI’s Macro Finance Research (MFR) Program at the University of Chicago and recipient of the 2013 Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel

The 2021 UChicago Graduate China Forum was held on April 23-24, 2021 in the University of Chicago. Themed “Path Forward”, we had the honor to host guest speakers from different arenas to discuss topics of their expertise, including Macroeconomics, Healthcare, Tech/FinTech, Entrepreneurship & Venture Capital, and Private Equity.

By initiating ongoing dialogues between the U.S. and China, we expect the forum to:

  • Provide unique insights into the U.S.-China relationship and expand the audience’s knowledge of China

  • Help the audience understand and identify key opportunities stemming from U.S.-China dynamics

  • Provide networking opportunities for the audience and distinguished leaders in all fields

The Forum has been a resounding success for seven consecutive years. Distinguished speakers in the past also include Mr. Henry Paulson, former U.S. Secretary of Treasury, Mr. Xiqing Gao, Vice Chairman of both China Securities Regulatory Commission and China National Council for Social Security Fund, Mr. Qi Bin, Executive Vice President of China Investment Corporation, and Mr. Jack Wadsworth, Chairman of Morgan Stanley Asia.

Founded in 2015, The University of Chicago Graduate China Forum is one of the most important student-run forums in the Midwestern United States. It aims to promote intellectual exchange and bilateral cooperation between the U.S. and China by creating a platform for presenting diverse perspectives on contemporary U.S.-China issues.


Our mission is to make the forum a key hub of communication and collaboration between the U.S. and China in the Midwestern U.S. and an engaging platform for University of Chicago professors, students and alumni interested in the U.S.-China relationship.
